Lampwork Beads - Handmade
Handmade Artisan Glass Lampwork Beads by Ian Williams
Lampwork Beads are handmade beads created by spinning hot glass onto a mandrel over a flame. Each bead is therefore individually created and annealed to prevent thermal shock. Annealing is a process of slowly cooling glass to relieve internal stresses after the bead was formed. Generally, the process is carried out by a kiln. If the glass is not annealed, it is likely to crack or shatter when subjected to a small temperature change. This is called thermal shock.
Handmade Glass Lampwork Beads are unique beads in every sense of the word. No two sets are alike. This is a huge advantage for Jewellery Makers, as their creations become a masterpiece containing one of a kind, exquisite beads.
